The hikes along the rugged cliffs offered breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. It was a great way for the kids to burn off some energy and connect with nature.

My children wanted more board games or activities for evenings.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kilfillan Cottage! the cottage was well-equipped and clean, with a modern and fresh bathroom. the sitting room was cozy, thanks to the lovely wood burner, and the beds were comfortable with high-quality linens. the enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs, and we enjoyed the beautiful planting around the cottage. the immediate area was idyllic, with stunning views. We wish we could wake up to that view every morning! the little extras like a pint of milk and home baking were a delightful touch.

    Felt snug, no complaints.

The location of the cottage is idyllic, nestled amongst the picturesque Machars and Galloway coast. The peaceful surroundings and stunning views make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage itself is full of character and charm, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, and the garden provides a lovely outdoor space to enjoy. It's an eco-friendly cottage, which is an added bonus for those who are conscious of their environmental impact.

Some minor cosmetic issues need attention.

The cottage was nicely furnished and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The sitting room was cozy, especially with the wood burner, and the beds were comfortable with high-quality linens. The enclosed garden was a great feature, perfect for our dogs to run around in. The fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, and homemade brownies were a lovely touch that made us feel welcome.

There were a few small unfinished details that detracted from the overall experience. The light in the hallway wasn't hung properly, and the main circuit board in the kitchen could have been hidden behind a cupboard.

Nothing to complain about at all.

The location of the cottage is praised by guests, with its peaceful surroundings and beautiful views of the Galloway coast. the cottage itself is described as full of character, comfortable, warm, and spacious. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the small touches like flowers, brownies, and milk on arrival. the cottage is also praised for its cleanliness and the extra amenities provided, such as towels on the beds and cake in the tin.

One minor criticism mentioned is the lack of curtains in the bedrooms to block out early morning sunlight.

I had such a wonderful stay at a charming cottage by the Galloway coast. The old station-turned-holiday home was full of character and provided a unique and cozy atmosphere. Inside, the cottage was warm, spacious, and comfortable, making it the perfect peaceful getaway. The outside space was lovely, with beautiful views and a tranquil ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the wind turbine, which added a touch of uniqueness to the landscape without disturbing the tranquility. The location was ideal for exploring the quiet and unspoilt Machars and Galloway coast. I highly recommend this cottage for those seeking a peaceful and memorable vacation.

We loved this house from the moment we walked in. It had a welcoming and well-laid out atmosphere. The owner even left us some delicious mince pies and mulled wine for the New Year. Our dog also enjoyed running around the spacious and fenced garden. The area itself was beautiful and peaceful, with a great beach for long walks and a friendly pub. The house had a wood-burning stove, a well-equipped kitchen, and overall, it felt very welcoming and cozy.

    All was good.

We had such a wonderful romantic escape in a cozy cottage in the beautiful Scottish countryside. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we needed, including a washing machine and a well-equipped kitchen. We loved waking up to the stunning view from our cottage and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the secluded location. The extra touches like towels on the beds and a stocked fridge made us feel so welcome.

The only small downside was that the bed was quite firm, which made it a bit uncomfortable for us. Additionally, the lack of curtains in the bedrooms meant that the sun woke us up very early in the morning.
